On Thursday 13th December, the KJA team came together for our annual Christmas and inaugural KJA staff awards ceremony, held in honour of two colleagues who passed away earlier this year.

Whilst 2018 has been a successful year of growth at KJA, the year has also been tinged with sadness as we lost two of our amazing executives, Toni Rankin and Deborah Cameron. Two KJA staff awards have been developed in consultation with their families, to honour their extraordinary contribution during their time with us.

Members of staff were asked to nominate colleagues for each award and the recipients were announced at a ceremony on 13th December.

The Facilitation in Community Engagement award has been created to honour Deb Cameron’s innovative and inclusive approach to facilitation and community engagement. This year Scott Newton, a Senior Project Manager in our Sydney office, was given the award in recognition of his exceptional facilitation and community engagement skills, which have been praised by clients and colleagues throughout the year.

The KJA Culture award has been created to honour Toni Rankin’s outstanding attitude and positive contribution to the culture of KJA. Beattie Tow, a Project Consultant in our Sydney office, was announced as the winner of the award, owing to her positive, thoughtful and caring approach to both her work and her colleagues.

Both Scott and Beattie received their awards from the families of Deb and Toni, and each will have their names engraved onto a dedicated permanent plaque, situated in the office as a reminder of Deb and Toni’s lasting legacy at KJA.
